About The Position

Research in laboratory mice using viral vectors, chemogenetics and optogenetics in mouse models of epilepsy and Alzheimer's disease. Electrophysiology, behavior and anatomy will be performed in vivo and in slices. A PhD or MD PhD is required, as well as a background in these approaches. The applicant will need a strong knowledge of scientific writing, computer skills and statistics. Experience with submission of grant applications is valuable. Individuals in training to ultimately establish their own laboratory are encouraged to apply.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and two years of professional research in an appropriate field or master's degree in an appropriate field may substitute for one year of the experience.

Nice To Haves

  • A PhD or MD/PhD degree in a neuroscience-related field
  • Experience with mice in neuroscience research
  • Experience in stereotaxic surgery, AAV, electrophysiology and/or behavior
  • Ability to use standard computer software (Microsoft Office, Adobe, Statistical software)
  • Ability to learn and work with others in a laboratory setting
