SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGIST INTERNSHIP 2026-27 School Year Salary: $6,500.00 Stipend Benefits: This position is not eligible for medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance in accordance with the School Employee Benefits Board rules and regulations. Job assignment and/or building assignment are subject to change based on program needs determined by the district. This internship is for students that have reached the point in their School Psychology program where an internship is required. Kelso School District offers the highest quality of school psychology training for the intern. We provide a culminating and diverse experience which allows individuals the opportunity to practice and integrate numerous skills with support from field-based supervisors. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Assist with assessments (intelligence, achievement, functional behavioral, social, emotional and curriculum-based assessment) and interpret results for special education eligibility and individual program needs Participate as a team member in special education assessment, eligibility and program design Assist with case management and coordination Assist with required reports in an accurate and timely manner; maintain compliance paperwork Provide group and individual counseling and social skills training as indicated on IEP's Consult with parents, staff and administration regarding student needs Understand and comply with current legislation on children with disabilities Understand and follow policies and procedures as adopted by the school district Follow Code of Ethics and maintain a high standard of professional behavior Provide crisis intervention to students when appropriate Participate in interagency teams Maintain student confidentiality according to HIPAA and FERPA guidelines Assist in upholding and enforcing school rules, administrative regulations, and board policies Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of state and federal legislation for disabilities (WAC 392-172A, IDEA '04, Section 504, etc.) Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing using district-provided hardware and software Demonstrated ability to administer standardized tests Ability to work a flexible schedule and travel between buildings as required Experience working with interdisciplinary teams and interagency teams Demonstrated awareness and appreciation of diversity among individual students and ability to set appropriate expectations for individual students Demonstrated ability to satisfactorily perform the essential job functions listed below Willingness to work with youth involved with the juvenile justice system Demonstrated ability to maintain individual case records according to law Willingness to participate in professional development activities designed to upgrade professional skills Must be willing to uphold board policies and follow administrative procedures OTHER FUNCTIONS: Fulfill all other responsibilities as assigned REPORTS TO: Special Education Director APPLICATION PROCEDURE: Apply online at www.kelso.wednet.edu Kelso School District #458 complies with all federal rules and regulations and does not discriminate in any programs or activities on the basis of sex, race, creed, religion, color, national origin, age, veteran or military status, sexual orientation, gender expression or identity, disability, or the use of a trained dog guide or service animal and provides equal access to the Boy Scouts and other designated youth groups listed in Title 36 of the United States Code.
