About The Position

Spalding Univerity School of Nursing Clinical Coordinator The Clinical Coordinator of the SUSON reports to the Chair of the School of Nursing and respective clinical programs directors. The clinical coordinator is responsible for clinical coordination and placements of nursing students within the appropriate clinical partner facilities, and all tasks and responsibilities related to clinical placement of students within clinical setting including compliance with all regulatory and approving bodies. Appointment and Evaluation The Clinical Coordinator is appointed by the Chair of the School of Nursing and respective directors of clinical-based programs. The term of office and review of service shall be incompliance with the policies of Spalding University and is evaluated annually by the Chair of the School of Nursing.

Requirements

  • Hold a minimum of a bachelor’s degree, degree in Nursing is preferred but not required.
  • If holds a nursing degree – must have unencumbered license in KY
  • Two years’ experience in nursing education.
  • Demonstrated technological competencies including the ability to navigate online system applications.
  • Has experience with recruitment, clinical placement, and/or nursing academic standards.
  • Has experience in growing relationships and partnerships.
  • Think creatively and critically.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Has high level or organizational skills.
  • Accepts responsibility for his/her own actions and assigned responsibilities.
  • Completes assigned tasks in a thorough and timely manner.
  • Works effectively as a member of a team.
  • Be proficient with computer knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates clinical placement sites for undergraduate nursing students in collaboration with Director of BSN Program and/or course faculty.
  • Coordinates preceptor placements for graduate nursing students in collaboration with NP programs director.
  • Ensures all clinical contracts are current and establishes new clinical contracts when necessary.
  • In collaboration with BSN director, assists in onboarding new adjunct clinical instructors and ensures compliance with KBN regulations.
  • Ensures all students completed required clinical compliance documentation per SUSON clinical placement policy, student handbooks, and clinical partners’ policies.
  • Coordinates collection of clinical experience surveys and reports data collected with SUSON leadership.
  • Attends Undergraduate and Graduate program meetings to communicate progress, clinical feedback, and/or data collected. Informs the faculty regarding any clinical issues and grievances.
  • Assists in resolution of student or facility concerns regarding clinical experiences in collaboration with the SUSON leadership.
  • Cultivates and grows relationships with clinical partners.
