About The Position

School Occupational Therapist 2026 - 2027 School Year 1.0 FTE This position will remain open until a qualified applicant is selected. The earliest date a recommendation for hire may be submitted is after 4/17/2026. This is a Continuing Position. Requirements

  • Valid Washington ESA certification as a School Occupational Therapist.
  • Successful completion of the Certification Examination for Occupational Therapist, Valid Washington State OTR License.
  • Successfully complete Washington State Patrol background Employee is responsible for cost of background check.
  • Must have regular, consistent attendance.
  • Understanding of current State and Federal laws pertaining to the education of students with disabilities.
  • Must be flexible, exhibit a commitment to accomplishment, possess outstanding communication and conceptual skills, demonstrate appropriate and positive student relationships, possess a strong professional orientation, and be willing to actively participate in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct, consultative and indirect service in schools, homes and community settings to support the educational and developmental motor needs of children with disabilities (birth to 21 years), their families, and their educational teams.
  • Screen and evaluate children referred for occupational therapy including evaluation in visual- perceptual skills, visual motor, fine motor skills, self-care, sensory integration, normal growth and development and functional abilities in order to determine eligibility for services and implement an individualized
  • Participate as a member of the Building Assessment Team in the assessment and evaluation of students.
  • Design and implement an occupational therapy treatment program to achieve established goals and objectives.
  • Establish, maintain, monitor and collect data for occupational therapy services and goals.
  • Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants and conduct personnel performance evaluations.
  • Provide consultation to staff and parents.
  • Manage equipment, supplies and repairs necessary for functional operations of Occupational Therapy.
  • Consult and communicate with other professionals and students' families regarding the needs of students.
  • Work effectively and cooperatively with parents, teachers, administrators, support staff, and community.
  • Understand and use a variety of assistive technologies and programs.
  • Participate in personal ongoing professional development.
  • Participate in State, Federal and District testing requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.
