About The Position
Sheppard Pratt School in Lanham is a nonpublic special education day school providing educational, therapeutic, and daily living services to students ages 5 to 21. Our tailored programs cater to individuals with autism spectrum disorder, intellectual disabilities, multiple disabilities, and other health impairments, ensuring each student receives the support they need to thrive. Every aspect of our school is carefully crafted to meet the unique needs of our students. From the moment students enter our doors, they are greeted by the warm smiles of our dedicated staff and surrounded by sensory-engaging elements like bubble tables and 50-gallon fish tank. What to expect. You will promote the health and well-being of our students, ensuring they have access to quality medical care and support through their educational journey. You will provide comprehensive nursing care to students with various medical needs , including but not limited to medication, administration wound care, and first aid.
Requirements
- An associate or bachelor’s degree in nursing.
- Possession of a valid license to practice nursing in the State of Maryland: Registered Nurse (RN)
Nice To Haves
- 1 year of working experience in a school setting preferred.
Responsibilities
- Coordinating with caregivers to provide medical treatment as indicated by student’s health needs and history.
- Supporting the school psychiatrist in medication management .
- Maintaining cumulative and comprehensive documentation for each student’s health record.

- The pay range for this position is $62,386.69 minimum to $99,600.18 maximum.
- Pay for this position is determined on a number of factors, including but not limited to, years and level of related experience
