About The Position
Purpose : Provides remedial instruction to students who need additional instruction in math and literacy.
Requirements
- Meet requirements of a Kansas Teaching License
- Knowledge of Kansas Standards in mathematics and literacy, intervention strategies, assessments and intervention resources
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, school personnel and parents
- Speaking, hearing, visual, reading, writing, word processing, mobility, consistency of temperament, ability to problem solve and work in stress providing environments.
Nice To Haves
- ESOL endorsement preferred
Responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver targeted instruction in a small group, individual, and/or classroom setting
- Deliver and use assessment results to diagnose areas of deficit and make instructional decisions that address students’ weaknesses
- Use research based strategies that meet students’ learning needs and support core instruction
- Coordinate planning and communicate students’ performance with teachers, principal and curriculum coordinator
- Use district-approved instructional resources, which includes both primary and supplemental resources
- Monitor and maintain accurate records for reporting student progress to teachers and parents
- Assist in the assigning and scheduling of students
