About the Position Edmonds School District Assistant Principals work with the building administrative team to supervise, direct, and evaluate assigned staff; utilize the evaluation process to promote professional growth and staff development; provide educational leadership and develop, implement, and assess an effective learning program to continuously improve student performance. Assistant Principals create a positive learning environment sensitive to diverse socioeconomic and ethnic groups; promote shared decision making and teamwork; assist with the planning and supervision of activities during the school day, at night, and on weekends; supervise curriculum planning and professional development programs in the building; supervise student conduct and oversee building disciplinary procedures; implement school and District attendance policies; assist with the implementation of Federal, State and local educational reform efforts; participate in District-level decision-making and articulation activities. Madrona K-8 School is located in Edmonds, Washington and serves approximately 600 students in grades K-8 from Brier, Edmonds, Lynnwood, Mountlake Terrace, and Woodway. Students at Madrona benefit from a multi-age instructional setting with grade level groupings for kindergarten, primary (1st-3rd), intermediate (4th-6th), and middle school (7th-8th). This position begins the 2026-27 school year. Start date is July 1, 2026.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree
  • Valid Washington State Principal's Credential for the secondary level or ability to obtain prior to start date
  • Previous school administration and/or teaching experience at the secondary level
  • Knowledge and understanding of the use of an instructional framework to guide instructional practices, including experience with Teacher/Principal Evaluation Program (TPEP)
