About The Position

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Administersfirst aid and medication to students according to district policy and procedures. 2. Assists and participates in the implementation of the communicable disease program and screenings. 3. Communicates effectively with school nurse, staff and parents regarding health care needs and concernsfor the purposeofreferring students in need of further treatment. 4. Follows medical emergency plans and maintains health records for the purposeof providing information required by legal and professional standards. 5. Performs record keeping andclerical functions understrict confidentiality for the purposeof supporting the health servicesstaff. 6. Performs specialized treatments as delegated by appropriate personnel monitored and evaluated by school nurse. 7. Supervises students referredforillness and/or injury for the purposeof monitoring their care and maintaining orderin the health room. 8. Followsall medical proceduresastrained by school nurse. 9. Abidesbyall district, state and federal laws, policies and procedures. 10. Performsothertasks and health related duties as assigned by supervisor. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Numberof days and compensation based on Board approved support personnelsalary schedule and employee work calendars. EVALUATION: Job performance evaluated annually by the principal or assistant principal, lead nurse or Director of Special Services PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to routinely and continually bend, squat, stand, walk, or climbstairs. Ability to lift up to 20 pounds. Ability to operate computers, copy machine, and other office machines as needed.

  • Performs record keeping and clerical functions under strict confidentiality for the purpose of supporting the health services staff.
  • Performs specialized treatments as delegated by appropriate personnel monitored and evaluated by school nurse.
  • Supervises students referred for illness and/or injury for the purpose of monitoring their care and maintaining order in the health room.
  • Follows all medical procedures as trained by school nurse.
  • Abides by all district, state and federal laws, policies and procedures.
  • Performs other tasks and health related duties as assigned by supervisor.
