About The Position

School Counselor (Anticipated, Grades 3-8) Needed Location: Williston Central School Williston Central School (WCS) is seeking a dynamic educator to join our school community as a full-time School Counselor and member of our Direction Center team. Located in Chittenden County, WCS is a vibrant learning community of dedicated, committed faculty and staff serving students in third through eighth grade. The successful candidate should possess the knowledge, abilities, skills, and attitudes necessary to plan, organize, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive results-based school counseling program that aligns with the ASCA National Model. Preferred qualifications for this full-time position include a master’s degree, a Vermont Professional Educator’s license, and a Vermont Pre-K-12 school counselor endorsement. The ideal candidate will also: Have a whole child focus, value equity and social justice, and be genuinely interested in students and their academic, social, and emotional growth Have a growth mindset, be a model of continuous learning Demonstrate experience developing relationships of trust with students and families Have leadership experience in Educational Support Teams (EST) Have a deep understanding of MTSS Have experience promoting and nurturing positive school-wide climate Have leadership experience with student and family entry and transition procedures Have high-level communication and collaboration skills Have successful experience as an effective member of a high-functioning professional team Have successful experience delivering classroom-based instruction to primary-aged students Have experience designing, creating, and facilitating support groups and programming tailored to responsively meet the needs of individual and small groups of students If you are a dynamic, energetic, collegial, and innovative individual we would love to talk with you about joining the Williston Central School team.
