About The Position

We are currently seeking a reliable and detail-oriented School Bus Dispatcher to join our transportation team. The School Bus Dispatcher serves as the central communication hub, managing daily transportation logistics for safe and efficient student transportation. Requirements

• Possession of a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with appropriate passenger and school bus endorsements (preferred or required, depending on district policy).
• Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, web browsers, and the ability to quickly learn new programs, including GPS-based dispatch software.
• Excellent ability to handle urgent, fast-changing situations with composure and sound judgment throughout the day.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience in school transportation, dispatching, or a related field is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Routing & Scheduling : Develop and maintain efficient bus routes, assign drivers and substitute drivers, and coordinate special trips and extracurricular transportation needs.
• Real-Time Dispatching : Monitor bus routes in real time using radio equipment and GPS software to ensure on-time performance and promptly address delays, mechanical issues, traffic problems, or other disruptions.
• Communication Hub : Serve as the primary point of contact for parents, school administrators, drivers, and mechanics to resolve route concerns, safety issues, and student behavior matters.
• Staff Management : Schedule substitute drivers, assign stand-by personnel, maintain accurate driver records, and support overall transportation team operations.
