About The Position

Overview The School‑Based Health Clinic Safety & Support role provides a visible, supportive, and safety‑focused presence within MedCura Health’s school‑based clinics. This position helps maintain a secure, welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors while supporting daily clinic operations. The role works closely with school personnel, clinic leadership, and the Operations team to ensure safe student movement, monitor clinic spaces, assist with non‑clinical de‑escalation, and uphold all safety protocols. When school is not in session, or when clinic coverage is not required, the position provides operational and facilities support across MedCura Health locations, assisting with routine facility checks, minor repairs, logistics, and special projects. This hybrid structure ensures consistent operational support while maintaining a strong safety presence in school‑based settings.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must successfully complete and pass the applicable county school‑district background check to ensure proper access to school facilities and compliance with county requirements.
  • Experience working in safety, security, school environments, youth services, healthcare support, operations, or related fields.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and clinic personnel.
  • Ability to remain calm, professional, and solution‑focused during stressful, emotionally charged, or disruptive situations.
  • Knowledge of basic safety practices, situational awareness, and verbal de‑escalation techniques; formal training such as Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI), Handle With Care, or similar is helpful.
  • Familiarity with confidentiality and privacy requirements, including the HIPAA and the FERPA, as applicable.
  • Ability to walk, stand, escort students, and perform light physical tasks as needed throughout the workday.
  • Strong reliability, professionalism, and accountability when working independently or as part of a team.
  • Valid Georgia driver’s license and reliable transportation for floating assignments across MedCura Health locations.

  • Experience supporting facilities, logistics, or operational functions such as room setup, minor repairs, equipment movement, or supply delivery is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a visible safety presence within school‑based health clinics to promote a secure and supportive environment.
  • Escort students safely to and from the clinic in coordination with school staff and clinic personnel.
  • Monitor clinic entrances, waiting areas, hallways, and surrounding spaces for safety concerns or unauthorized access.
  • Patrol assigned locations and report irregularities related to safety, security, policy compliance, parking, and property concerns.
  • Assist with de‑escalation of non‑clinical situations using approved verbal and behavioral techniques.
  • Preserve order and support enforcement of clinic regulations pertaining to employees, visitors, students, and premises.
  • Respond to incidents and protect the scene in the event of accidents, emergencies, or safety concerns.
  • Communicate promptly with clinic leadership, school administration, safety and risk officer, and operations regarding safety issues or incidents.
  • Document safety concerns, incidents, or observations according to organizational procedures and submit required reports by end of shift.
  • Always maintain professionalism and confidentiality, including compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), as applicable, and all organizational policies.
  • Assist with routine facility checks, minor repairs, room setup and breakdown, and general operational support when schools are closed or clinic coverage is not required.
  • Support logistics such as equipment movement, supply delivery, and basic inventory management across MedCura Health locations.
  • Report facility issues, safety hazards, or maintenance needs to appropriate leadership.
  • Provide safe, timely delivery of supplies, equipment, and materials to and from MedCura Health clinics as needed.
  • Participate in required safety, emergency preparedness, and compliance training.
  • Demonstrate accountability for service excellence with all internal and external customers, staff, and students.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support clinic operations, organizational safety, and facility’s needs.
