About The Position

Cayuga Counseling Services, Inc., a private, non-for-profit health and human service agency located in Auburn, NY seeks a Full Time School-Based Mental Health Therapist . The School Based Mental Health Therapist provides direct therapeutic services including assessments, diagnosis and psychotherapy to clients in the school setting. The Therapist may provide services to clients in the main office and home-based setting determined by the Agency and client needs. School Based Mental Health Therapist will use their skills to: Provide direct therapeutic services to clients in the school setting and as needed in the main office and home-based setting. Uses independent judgement and refers questions to supervisor. As needed conducts intakes of new clients Prepares progress notes, diagnostic evaluations, and treatment plans for clients. Consults with supervisor when needed. Ensures case notes are maintained in accordance with HIPAA and OMH regulations. Schedules clients in order to maintain the Agency determined productivity. Attends weekly supervision meetings with Clinic Program Coordinator as well as other group supervision meetings. Responsible for the continuing development of knowledge and skills. Participates in agency staff meetings, study groups, and agency committees as needed. May supervise interns as needed. Preforms other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • A master's degree in social work or a related field, as well as NYS licensure or a limited permit is required.
  • Candidates must have excellent organizational skills, written/verbal communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment independently.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in a supervised clinic for 3 years (Preferred)
