About The Position

LifeLine EMS is seeking a detail-oriented Scheduling Coordinator to manage the complex logistics of our ambulance operations. In this vital role, you'll develop and maintain comprehensive shift schedules for EMS personnel, ensuring adequate coverage at all times while adhering to labor laws, regulations, and employee preferences. You'll collaborate closely with operational teams across all departments to meet critical service needs and coordinate appropriate training schedules for new employees. Your responsibilities will include maintaining accurate records in our electronic scheduling systems, ensuring compliance with established protocols and quality standards, and adapting swiftly to changing situations. When scheduling conflicts, resource shortages, or unexpected events arise, you'll make informed decisions to optimize resource allocation and response times. You'll also regularly analyze scheduling data, response metrics, and incident reports to identify process improvements and enhance overall operational efficiency. This role requires exceptional multitasking abilities, excellent communication skills, and a strong sense of responsibility in managing complex scheduling tasks.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in scheduling, logistics, or a related field, preferably within an EMS or healthcare environment.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in scheduling software tools.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to remain calm and make decisions under pressure.
  • Flexibility in schedule to meet operational needs.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding of medical terminology and basic EMS protocols is preferred.
  • Knowledge of labor laws and regulations related to scheduling is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Address scheduling conflicts, resource shortages, and unexpected events by making swift and informed decisions to optimize resource allocation and response times.
  • Regularly view and analyze scheduling data, response metrics, and incident reports to identify opportunities for process improvements and enhance overall efficiency.
