About The Position

SCHEDULING COORDINATOR Position Summary The Radiology Staffing Schedule Coordinator is responsible for processing all patient arrival information, scheduling of patient appointments, sorting and delivering of x-ray reports, charging completed examinations and maintaining current master jacket files. Major Responsibility 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Must have basic PC knowledge to schedule and register patients. Responsible for timely delivery of x-ray reports to comply with department and hospital standards specific to patient care. Must be proficient in preparing x-ray master jackets and terminal digit filing as well as making film copies for physicians and patients. Have thorough knowledge of medical terminology, must be organized and an accurate speller. Responsible for notifying the supervisor when supply levels are low and need to be re- ordered to insure that adequate inventories are maintained. D EMONSTRATES THE ABILITY TO SAFELY AND COMPETENTLY PERFORM TASKS AND PROCEDURES ACCORDING TO SCOPE OF PRACTICE AND HOSPITAL POLICY AND PROCEDURE . 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. Photocopies and faxes reports, forms, records, etc. as needed/directed. Checks and orders stationary supplies and department supplies at routine intervals maintaining a sufficient reserve (PAR) level of forms. Locates staff, supplies, etc. as needed by department team members including physicians. Initiates and follows through with requests for services to effect patient care, environmental cleanliness and safety. Assists visitors, staff without hesitation; if unable to respond to request, seeks appropriate staff member capable of accommodating needs. Initiates work orders, contacting Facilities Management as appropriate or requested. Keeps scheduling area organized and neat at all times. Maintains accurate and complete logs. D EMONSTRATES THE ABILITY TO SAFELY AND COMPETENTLY USE EQUIPMENT IN THE PROVISION OF DEPARTMENT SERVICES PER SCOPE OF PRACTICE : 1. 2. 3. Obtains necessary training prior to initial equipment use Assures equipment is in operating order prior to use Uses the equipment in accordance with manufacturer’s operating instructions. Q UALIFICATIONS GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: High School Graduate or equivalent. Strong computer skills, including spreadsheets and word-processing. Good communication skill (especially phone skills). Requirements
