FTE: 1.0, Shift: Day Schedule: Monday - Friday Position Summary The Scheduling Coordinator-Specialty Clinic is responsible for providing coordination of the provider’s surgery and clinic schedules. This is a clerical position which is the first line representative to the hospitals and surgery centers and is responsible for scheduling appointments and operative procedures. This position works as a team member of the clinic.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum two (2) years of clerical experience in a medical environment

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates the scheduling of appointments and surgical procedures accurately, recognizing the importance and relationship to patient care
  • Verifies insurance benefits
  • Obtains insurance pre-certification and authorization as required
  • Coordinates and schedules patient appointments to include pre-op, pre-admit and post-op appointments
  • Schedules all meetings for provider, including attorney and vendor meetings
  • Maintains, coordinates and manipulates provider clinic schedule to accommodate surgical cases, CME, vacation, court appearance, attorney depositions and all other meetings for the provider, using both Epic and MS Outlook programs
