About The Position

The Specialty Scheduling Assistant is responsible for obtaining and processing information and paperwork for our participants specialty appointments. Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Minimum of one (1) year working with the frail, elderly or long-term care population.
  • Requires proficient knowledge of Microsoft Windows programs such as Word and Excel.
  • Requires the ability to function in a multi-task, fast paced environment.
  • Must be self-directed, flexible and committed to the team concept.

Nice To Haves

  • Scheduling experience, preferred.
  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology is very beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Track participant attendance to every specialty appointment.
  • Obtain Medical Records from each attended specialty appointment.
  • Track authorizations and requests for any subsequent test, appointments or procedures while working closely with PACE PCPs and Transportation.
  • Enter participant appointment details using computerized systems accurately and efficiently.
  • Independently resolves scheduling conflicts for participant’s specialty appointments.
  • Call participants to inform and remind them and family/guardian of appointment date and time.
  • Process necessary paperwork for specialty appointments.
  • Document required information in EMR.
  • Fills in for Receptionist as needed.
