Requirements

  • Proven experience in scale installation, calibration, and repair
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations (e.g., ISO 9001, NIST Handbook 44)
  • Proficiency using calibration and measurement equipment
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Physical ability to lift 50 lbs and work in various conditions
  • Valid CDL Class B (or A) required
  • High school diploma or equivalent required

Nice To Haves

  • AC/DC and MIG welding experience is a plus
  • Technical or vocational training in electronics, instrumentation, or related field preferred
  • 2-3 years of industry experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Scale Installation
  • Properly install and set up various types of scales, including industrial, laboratory, and commercial scales, according to manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
  • Calibration
  • Perform calibration procedures to ensure accurate measurements.
  • Adjust calibration settings as needed to meet precision requirements.
  • Maintenance and Repair
  • Conduct routine maintenance to prevent malfunctions and extend scale lifespan.
  • Diagnose and repair issues promptly to minimize downtime.
  • Inspection
  • Inspect scales for wear, damage, and functionality.
  • Identify and address issues related to load cells, display units, and other components.
  • Documentation
  • Maintain detailed records of service and calibration activities, including certificates, service reports, and parts used.
  • Ensure all documentation complies with industry regulations.
  • Customer Interaction
  • Interact professionally and courteously with clients.
  • Discuss service requirements, provide estimates, and address questions or concerns.
  • Safety Compliance
  • Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols to maintain a secure working environment.
  • Prioritize safety when working with heavy equipment and electrical components.
  • Quality Assurance
  • Ensure all serviced scales meet quality and regulatory standards.
  • Verify suitability for intended applications.
  • Inventory Management
  • Track spare parts, tools, and equipment required for service.
  • Replenish supplies as needed.
  • Training
  • Stay up-to-date on advancements in scale technology and industry best practices.
  • Participate in relevant training programs.
