About The Position

Scale House Operators are responsible for weighing and ticketing all inbound and outbound loads, operating the grain scale(s), and completing the probing and grain grading, according to GLE policies and procedures. Employment for this position is conditioned upon successfully passing certain pre-employment requirements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required
  • To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the competencies required to perform the essential functions of this position along with effective oral and written communication skills, and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Individual must be able to read, write, and comprehend the English Language, and be able to give accurate verbal and written instructions
  • Must have basic computer knowledge and the ability to multitask
  • Must be able to communicate clearly in English

Nice To Haves

  • Prior grain grading experience is highly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for weighing and ticketing all inbound and outbound trucks/communicate to Grains when dry or modified trucks are on site
  • Operate grain scale
  • Probing and grading grain, according to GLE policies and procedures
  • Work with and communicate with Grain Commodities Manager and Commodities Support Specialist
  • Maintain a friendly atmosphere and provide a high level of customer service to external and internal customers/grain haulers
  • Adhere to all safety regulations
  • Maintain a clean work area/including keeping receive bay and grate clean
  • Safe work practices are a condition of employment. Report any safety issue or problem to your supervisor and safety coordinator immediately
  • Assist in other area of the Shipping and Receiving Department as needed
  • Focus on continuous improvement in all aspects of the job
  • Maintain a team environment with all other plant departments
  • Actively promote GLE’s vision, mission, and values with employees, outside vendors, and customers
  • Be depended on to report to work at the scheduled time and is seldom absent from work
  • Be depended upon to complete work in a timely, accurate and thorough manner
  • Other duties as assigned
