About The Position

The SBA Closing Specialist (SCS) is an onsite position and does not have remote opportunities. The SBA Closing Specialist (SCS) is responsible for fostering strong, collaborative, and effective relationships that reflect respect, integrity, and excellence with their clients, colleagues, and management team. The SCS assists the full loan closing process for Government Guaranteed loans, provides speed and efficiency in closing loans while maintaining a high level of SBA compliance, and communicates directly with Client Relationship Managers or Portfolio Managers and Borrowers, as necessary, to ensure timely and accurate closing. With excellence, the SCS prepares Preferred Lender Program (PLP) and General Program (GP) loan applications that are within the SCS’s assigned loan complexity scope or so that the applications may be reviewed by the SBA Sr. Closing Officer and/or the SBA Closing Manager. The SCS demonstrates strong teamwork and adaptability to support their function and to assist the SBA Closing Manager with other duties as assigned. All duties are to be performed accurately, timely and efficiently, in accordance with Bank policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines including SBA Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).

Requirements

  • Some College preferred.
  • Knowledge of Loan Documentation.
  • Knowledge of SBA Standard Operating Procedures preferred.
  • Basic understanding of banking regulations and standard banking practices.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software package.
  • Minimum of 1 year of Loan Closing experience required.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong Organization skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize multiple projects.
  • Familiarity with SBA Standard Operating Procedures & E-Tran.
  • Attention to details.
  • Strong critical thinking skills.
  • Adaptable.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office software package.

Nice To Haves

  • SBA closing experience preferred.
