About The Position

This role is more than just a SAUTE COOK, it is an opportunity to showcase the bold, vibrant flavors of Burmese and Southeast Asian Cuisine. As part of our kitchen team, you contribute directly to the guest experience through skilled execution, consistency and attention to detail. The SAUTE COOK must be proficient in high-heat cooking techniques, including wok and sauté work, and have a solid understanding of Southeast Asian flavor profiles. You will be responsible for preparing dishes accurately, quickly and to recipe standards while maintaining quality, presentation and a well-organized station.

Requirements

  • Sauté cook experience is a must (2+ years' experience preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of Burmese and Southeast Asian cuisine ingredients, spices, and cooking techniques
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen while maintaining attention to detail
  • Strong knife skills and ability to prep ingredients efficiently
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50lbs
  • Ability to acquire a Food Handlers certification and a Sexual Harassment certification (before or within 30 days of hire date)

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook menu items assigned to the sauté station according to restaurant recipes and specifications
  • Properly sear, sauté, and finish dishes while maintaining flavor, texture, and presentation standards
  • Coordinate ticket timing with the line to ensure all dishes for a table are completed simultaneously
  • Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper cooling, storage and labeling of food products
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked sauté station throughout service
  • Assist with prep work such as chopping, portioning, marinating and station setup/breakdown
  • Communicate effectively with Executive Chef, Sous Chef and fellow line cooks
  • Monitor product quality and freshness, notify management of any concerns or shortages
  • Follow proper kitchen equipment handling and safety procedures
  • Support overall Back-of-House (BOH) operations as needed, including assisting other stations during high volume
