About The Position

Sauté Cook – grove restaurant (Essence Hospitality Group) Are you an experienced cook who thrives in the heat of the line—fast, focused, and precise? grove , part of Essence Hospitality (also home to Bistro Bella Vita and Lucy’s), is looking for a Sauté Cook who can balance technical skill with creativity in a high-caliber kitchen. We’re known for ingredient-driven, from-scratch cooking and seasonal menus that celebrate Michigan farmers and producers. At grove, execution and finesse matter—especially on sauté, where timing, flavor, and consistency define the guest experience.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in a professional kitchen, ideally on the sauté or hot line
  • Strong technical skills in pan sauces, reductions, and protein cookery
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment without sacrificing quality
  • Dependable, detail-oriented, and passionate about excellence
  • A team player with clear communication and pride in their craft

Responsibilities

  • Manage the sauté station with speed, precision, and consistency during service
  • Execute dishes to grove’s exacting standards of flavor, texture, and presentation
  • Maintain mise en place and readiness across multiple pans and proteins
  • Collaborate with the chef team to develop and refine seasonal menu items
  • Uphold cleanliness, organization, and safety standards at all times
  • Support a positive kitchen culture built on teamwork and communication
