About The Position

As a Sanitation Worker, you will play a key role in maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary production environment. You will be responsible for cleaning and sanitizing production equipment, machinery, and work areas to meet quality and bacterial standards. This role involves handling and preparing cleaning chemicals and sanitizers, managing chemical concentrations, performing dry clean-up, disposing of waste, and responding to chemical incidents. Your work directly supports food safety, equipment readiness, and overall plant operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent schooling required.
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend job-related documentation.
  • Good paperwork and documentation skills.
  • Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels, both internally and externally.
  • Ability to work courteously and respectfully with other employees.
  • Ability to use power equipment including backpack vacuums, floor scrubbers, and steam cleaners.
  • Scissor lift certification required.
  • Ability to obtain high lift certification required. (working at 50ft vertically on a lift after lift and harness training complete required)
  • Ability to work for extended periods on lifts and ladders.
  • Physically capable of performing all required duties, including heavy lifting.
  • Ability to work in wet, humid environments with extreme temperature changes.
  • Lift and move water hoses, chemical hoses, equipment, and chemical containers weighing between 20–80 lbs throughout the shift.
  • Extended periods of standing, lifting, climbing, and working at heights required.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and sanitize plant equipment to meet plant quality and bacterial standards.
  • Sanitize and inspect equipment effectively and efficiently prior to production.
  • Perform after-construction detail cleaning as required.
  • Work around large processing equipment where chemicals are used to complete sanitation activities.
  • Assist in transporting heavy equipment using forklifts or other approved devices.
  • Handle, prepare, store, and dispose of cleaning chemicals and sanitizers according to safety guidelines.
  • Prepare and verify proper chemical concentrations.
  • Manage chemical accidents, dry clean-up, and waste disposal safely.
  • Wear all employer-specified personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Perform all tasks in a manner that does not pose danger to self or others.
  • Work as part of a team under stressful conditions while remaining flexible to perform varying tasks per supervisor instruction.
  • Perform varying tasks while standing, lifting, crouching, and working for extended periods.
  • Work in construction zones as required.
