About The Position

Sanitation Worker Position Summary Work Schedule: 3rd shift 100% on-site in Greendale, IN Greendale is one of Catalent’s gummy technology development and manufacturing facilities in North America. The site manufactures organic and vegan-based nutraceuticals via confection to enhance wellness for all consumers. The Sanitation Worker completes the cleaning and sanitation of the production equipment and the facility. The Sanitation Worker performs tasks according to Standard Sanitation Operating Procedures and Master Sanitation Schedules.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or Equivalent Required
  • Ability to read and interpret a limited number of two and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk.
  • The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
  • The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25lbs and frequently lift and/or move up to 50lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Complete day to day cleaning and sanitation work duties including cleaning and sanitizing of all production machinery and equipment throughout the plant such as conveyor belts, screens, filters, kettles, pipes, walls, totes, sanding/ oiling drum, tables, and facility housekeeping including plant exterior, and ensure proper cleaning procedures are followed.
  • Handle chemicals used in the process of cleaning and sanitation by following safety pre-caution.
  • Complete the removal and disposal of waste and recycling in an effective manner.
  • Using ATP bioluminescence device to verify cleaning and sanitation effectiveness.
  • Troubleshoot root cause of cleaning and sanitation failure, and work on problem solving.
  • Observe and follow safety procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Standard Sanitation Operating Procedures (SSOP) Food Safety Plan (HACCP) and Food Quality Plan (FQP).
  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals and document cleaning and sanitation activities records.
  • Participate in all necessary training is required to successfully perform job responsibilities and perform other duties as assigned.
