About The Position

The Sanitation Assistant Utility Worker plays a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene standards within a production kitchen environment, specifically during the 2nd shift. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic understanding of sanitation procedures and food safety standards.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
  • Physical capability to perform cleaning tasks, including lifting, standing for extended periods, and handling cleaning chemicals safely.
  • Previous experience in a sanitation or food service environment is preferred but not required.
  • Able to follow oral and written directions
  • Able to reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift up to 50 pounds
  • Able work in standing position for long periods of time
  • Punctual and dependable
  • Follows food safety requirements and guidelines
  • Self-starter that can work independently
  • Must pass criminal background check

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in food safety or sanitation (e.g., ServSafe or equivalent).
  • Experience working in a production kitchen or similar food service setting.
  • Familiarity with OSHA and local health department regulations related to sanitation.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends if necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Apply established sanitation procedures to all kitchen equipment, surfaces, and utensils to maintain a hygienic environment.
  • Ensure sanitation standards are consistently met throughout the production kitchen during the 2nd shift.
  • Support the food service team by cleaning and sanitizing food preparation areas in compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Monitor and report any sanitation issues or equipment malfunctions to the supervisory staff promptly.
  • Assist in waste disposal and maintain cleanliness in all designated work areas to promote a safe working environment.
