About The Position

Sample Prep Technician – Thermal Destruction Department Sibanye-Stillwater is seeking a dependable Sample Prep Technician to support laboratory and production operations within the Thermal Destruction Department. This hands-on role focuses on preparing, weighing, processing, and documenting material samples while maintaining a clean, organized, and compliant work environment in support of safe and efficient operations. Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required
• Basic math skills, including measurement and conversions
• Ability to stand and walk throughout the shift in a production or laboratory environment
• Comfort working in areas with heat, dust, and noise
• Ability to wear required PPE
• Ability to read, write, and speak English
• Team oriented, reliable, and safety focused
• Reliable transportation required due to limited public transportation access
• Must meet ITAR and CTPAT eligibility requirements
• Ability to pass background screening and pre-employment drug testing

Responsibilities

• Weigh and prepare material samples for processing and analysis
• Accurately record measurements and data in tracking systems
• Support grinding, blending, and size reduction activities
• Assist with sample inventory management and organization
• Maintain clean work areas, equipment, and tools to prevent contamination
• Follow all safety standards, quality requirements, and PPE protocols
• Stand, walk, and lift materials up to 50 pounds throughout the shift
