About The Position

This Sample Processor Technician will perform various office, laboratory, and clinical duties within multiple departments of QPS. This position will work directly with clinical staff to process study samples as well as process samples in the PBMC laboratory. This position will also work in the QPS Logistics department to aid in sample shipments and kit production.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent, with some experience in an environment requiring confidentiality, discretion, and attention to detail
Minimum of 1 year experience working in a fast paced, detail oriented environment preferred

Nice To Haves

Experience in a Regulated industry laboratory/healthcare setting preferred (preferably experience in utilizing various pipettes and centrifuges within a lab; no phlebotomy experience required)

Responsibilities

Read and understand the guidelines of the study protocols and laboratory manuals.
Perform the following clinical / laboratory procedures: Study sample processing, PBMC isolation, urine pregnancy test, urine drug test, urine cotinine test, and other tests required by specific study protocols.
Perform the following procedures within the QPS Logistics Department: IATA certification, sample shipments, Kit production and shipping, aid in sample aliquoting studies.
Label and QC specimen containers according to protocol specifications and site SOPs.
Maintain ability to work effectively with other people including both participants and other members of the QPS team.
Record specimen collection/processing accurately.
Process samples according to protocol and laboratory specifications.
Prepare biohazard material for disposal.
Collects specimens from clinical research subjects in a timed structure.
Prepare and label study sample tubes.
Ensures all procedures and techniques used follow internal standard operating procedures, clinical operations procedures, study protocols and laboratory manuals.
