About The Position

Johnstone Supply, North Americas leading wholesale distributor of HVACR equipment, parts, and supplies has a great opportunity for a Sales Support Representative to join our team. Over the last seven decades Johnstone has grown into the industry leader with over 450 distributor branches and 6 distribution centers throughout North America resulting in over $4 billion in annual sales. We work with some of the largest companies in the world, including Daikin/Goodman, Honeywell, Emerson, Johnson Controls, Google and Fujitsu, to provide contractors with world class products, technical expertise and quality service. As a member of the Dallas Store Group team, the Sales Support Representative is responsible for increasing sales through responsive, accurate quotes and for improving close rates on open quotes while providing accurate recordings of all sales quotes.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED; at least one year of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration (HVAC/R) experience, or at least one year of sales experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Direct sales experience in the business-to-business HVAC/R or similar industry is preferred, but not required for this role.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office and customer relationship management (CRM) software.
  • Understands and functions proficiently in ProKeep, E-mails, Locker Pick-Up, CRM, PS Sales Support
  • Demonstrated proficiencies and understanding connected functions related to the position.
  • Ability to use the available cross references and websites for selling/matching products.
  • Demonstrated ability in achieving sales goals.
  • Demonstrated understanding and application of effective sales strategies and techniques.
  • Skill in using critical thought to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions.
  • Knowledge of principles and methods of selling products and services.
  • Displays a high level of effort and commitment towards performing work; demonstrates responsible behavior.
  • Strong project management and multi-tasking skills.
  • Skill in building long term customer relationships.
  • Ability to maintain a positive and friendly demeanor.
  • Skill in proactively communicating (both verbal and written) to establish relationships and influence decisions.

  • Direct sales experience in the business-to-business HVAC/R or similar industry is preferred, but not required for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Achieves sales and growth targets by developing new accounts and strengthening existing relationships.
  • Provides efficient, accurate quoting support to the outside and counter sales teams.
  • Maintains strong customer relationships through friendly, solution-oriented service.
  • Presents and promote featured products, offering related and add-on items to maximize sales.
  • Recommends products based on customer needs and explain the value of partnering with Johnstone.
  • Proactively follows up on leads, quotes, and inquiries to drive conversion.
  • Identifies customer needs and uncover new opportunities within current accounts.
  • Builds and expand relationships with key contacts and decision-makers.
  • Supports outside and counter sales through accurate quoting via phone, email, and ProKeep.
  • Manages communications (calls, emails, messages) with timely, prioritized responses.
  • Creates and process sales tickets, take payments, and handle ROAs accurately.
  • Collaborates with internal teams to ensure seamless service to existing customers.
  • Maintains product knowledge through ongoing training and use of Johnstone tools and catalogs.
  • Strengthens customer relationships post-sale by addressing issues and providing continued support.
  • Documents activities per established sales processes.
