About The Position

About the Role: The Team: As a valuable member of the sales team, the Sales Associate's primary responsibility is to generate sales revenues within the Trade & Supply Chain business line. This role involves proactively identifying, qualifying, and closing new business opportunities. The Sales Associate will leverage their experience to effectively build user stories that meet client needs, shorten sales cycles, solve business challenges, and communicate the benefits of the S&P suite of solutions to various personas. A solid understanding of the Corporate sector is essential. Responsibilities and Impact: Do you thrive in a dynamic environment where the work changes daily? You will support the sales team by promoting and consultatively selling a portfolio of products to current and target customers within North America across assigned sectors. You will identify key decision makers and influencers within target prospects and execute sales strategies collaboratively with consultants, client services, product management, operations, technology, and legal to optimize product and service delivery. Sell across the Trade & Supply Chain portfolio of data assets to achieve and exceed new business targets. Understand the unique value proposition of TSC data assets and effectively communicate the ROI to prospects. Focus on solution selling by identifying customer pain points that we can address. Collaborate with Solution Engineering and Marketing teams to identify new business and white space opportunities. Prepare and confidently deliver presentations to senior audiences, including VP and C-level decision makers. Prioritize new business acquisition by qualifying or disqualifying opportunities. Identify revenue drivers and metrics to enhance account volume, profit, and penetration. Understand the solution sales cycle and challenges, including competitor tactics, to refine sales strategies. Prepare proposals, contracts, and documentation as needed, including trial agreements and NDAs. Maintain effective interpersonal relationships with customers, addressing billing and contractual questions as necessary. Travel regularly within the defined territory to exceed sales objectives. Maintain CRM discipline by regularly updating all deals to ensure accurate forecasting and visibility across the business line. Provide ongoing feedback from clients to Sales and Product Management through internal communication and reporting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree desirable or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • At least 3 years of sales experience, preferably in data sales within the identified sector.
  • Demonstrated success in closing sales and managing relationships with multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and confidence in delivering product demonstrations.
  • Right to Work Requirements: This role is limited to persons with indefinite right to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of CRM databases (such as Salesforce.com) is advantageous.
