About The Position

McAdams Propane is seeking a Commercial & Industrial Propane Sales Representative to expand propane gallon sales and develop long term customer relationships across the region. This role is focused on high volume commercial and industrial propane applications. The successful candidate will identify businesses that rely on thermal processing, industrial heating, or LPG-powered equipment and provide consultative energy solutions that drive efficiency and reliability. Ideal candidates often come from industries such as propane distribution, industrial gases, cryogenics, welding supply, natural gas sales, fuel distribution, or industrial equipment sales.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; college degree in business or a related field preferred
  • 2–3 years of experience in B2B sales experience in propane, industrial gases, cryogenics, natural gas, welding supply, fuel distribution, or similar industrial markets
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the territory
  • Experience selling to commercial or industrial facilities
  • Strong understanding of industrial fuel or thermal process applications
  • Proven ability to generate new business and grow account volume
  • Strong relationship building, negotiation, and communication skills
  • Self starter comfortable managing a geographic territory
  • Experience using CRM tools, with Salesforce.com proficiency preferred
  • Proven ability to manage long sales cycles and build strategic client relationships
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch
  • Regularly and safely lifts, carries, and handles supplies and equipment weighing at least 20 - 75 pounds
  • Must pass pre-employment screening and background check
  • Position may require working evening hours and weekends as needed
  • Work is normally performed outside where exposure to conditions of extreme heat/cold, fumes and gases and airborne particles is common

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a territory sales strategy focused on commercial and industrial propane gallon growth
  • Prospect and secure new high volume propane customers across the region
  • Identify opportunities in industries such as: Manufacturing and industrial processing Metal fabrication and powder coating operations Food processing and smokehouses Agricultural processing and drying operations Industrial gas and cylinder filling operations Resorts, hospitality operations, and RV parks Specialty thermal applications (kilns, ovens, crematories, etc.)
  • Conduct site visits and facility evaluations to identify propane applications
  • Present propane solutions for industrial heating, process fuel, material handling, and other high consumption LPG uses
  • Build long term relationships with plant managers, facility managers, engineers, and business owners
  • Collaborate with operations teams to ensure smooth tank installation, supply logistics, and service delivery
  • Maintain an active pipeline and sales forecasting using CRM tools
  • Represent McAdams Propane at industry events and regional networking opportunities
