About The Position

We are searching for a Used Equipment Sales Representative to join our growing operations. This position will be based out of our Lake Charles, LA location. The person in this role will be responsible for driving sales of used equipment, managing customer relationships, and providing exceptional service to clients across Louisiana and the United States.

Requirements

  • High school dpiloma required; Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field is a plus
  • At least 2 years of inside sales experience, preferably in the heavy equipment, construction, or related industries. Experience with used equipment sales is highly preferred
  • Strong understanding of heavy machinery and construction equipment, including Caterpillar products. Ability to quickly learn about the specifications and features of used equipment
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with a customer-focused approach to selling. Proven ability to close sales and meet sales targets.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and experience with CRM software (Salesforce). Familiarity with equipment management software is a plus.
  • Ability to travel within defined sales territory and valid U.S. Driver's License with clean Motor Vehicle Record

  • Knowledge or experience using CRM (Customer Relations Management) software such as Salesforce.com

Responsibilities

  • Sales and Lead Generation: Proactively identify and generate sales opportunities for used equipment, including phones calls, emails, and follow-ups with potential customers.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with current and prospective customers to understand their equipment needs and offer tailored solutions.
  • Product Knowledge: Develop a strong understanding of the various types of used equipment available, including Caterpillar machines, and effectively communicate this knowledge to customers.
  • Quotation and Negotiation: Provide accurate pricing, financing options, and product information to customers. Negotiate terms and close sales in a timely manner.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels of used equipment, working closely with the sales and service teams to ensure products are available and ready for sale.
  • Order Processing and Documentation: Process orders, manage paperwork, and ensure that all transactions are handled efficiently and accurately.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the outside sales team, service departments, and management to ensure smooth sales processes and customer satisfaction.
  • Market Research: Stay up-to-date with market trends and competitor activity to identify sales opportunities and ensure Louisiana Caterpillar remains competitive in the marketplace.
  • Customer Support: Provide post-sale support, including coordinating deliveries, assisting with financing, and addressing any customer inquiries or issues.
