About The Position

The Sales Operations & Inside Sales Manager owns the commercial execution engine that supports sales performance, margin discipline, and customer execution. This role is responsible for sales operations, pricing governance, inside sales execution, deal support, reporting, and process rigor across the commercial organization. This position provides leadership across sales operations, inside sales, commercial analytics, and system integrity, partnering closely with Sales Leadership, Procurement, Finance, and Operations to ensure disciplined execution and consistent commercial decision-making.

Requirements

  • Proven ability to design, enforce, and scale sales operating processes
  • Experience leading or managing inside sales or sales support teams
  • Advanced analytical skills with the ability to translate data into decisions
  • Strong cross-functional leadership and influence without direct authority
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and commercial analytics tools
  • Experience working with ERP systems and pricing or quoting workflows
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, margin-sensitive environment
  • 5–7years of experience in sales operations, pricing, commercial analytics, or related roles
  • Prior leadership or people management experience required
  • Experience in produce, food distribution, wholesale, or perishable distribution environments preferred
  • Experience with Power BI or similar data visualization tools
  • Experience managing complex pricing structures, customer programs, and contracts
  • Background in revenue optimization, forecasting, or commercial strategy
  • Ability to work at a computer for extended periods
  • Ability to analyze data and reports for sustained durations Ability to communicate effectively via phone, email, and virtual platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Own and optimize sales operating processes including quoting, deal approval, contract pricing, customer programs, and bid execution
  • Serve as the operational backbone of the sales organization, ensuring speed, accuracy, and consistency
  • Act as the primary escalation point for deal structure, pricing exceptions, and customer programs
  • Develop and maintain pricing frameworks that support margin targets, market competitiveness, and customer segmentation
  • Establish and enforce pricing governance, approval workflows, and controls
  • Monitor margin performance and identify risks, leakage, and optimization opportunities
  • Partner with sales leadership on pricing strategy, negotiations, and customer-specific structures
  • Ensure alignment between inside sales, field sales, and operations
  • Own sales reporting, dashboards, and commercial KPIs
  • Deliver data-driven insights on pricing effectiveness, margin performance, sales activity, and customer trends
  • Ensure accurate and timely pricing, customer, and item data within ERP and related systems
  • Identify opportunities for automation, simplification, and process improvement
  • Partner with Procurement on cost visibility and margin impact
  • Partner with Finance on forecasting, profitability analysis, and performance reporting
  • Partner with Operations to ensure commercial commitments align with operational capability
  • Train and support sales teams on pricing discipline, tools, and sales processes
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, pricing controls, and applicable regulations
