About The Position

We are seeking a results-driven Sales Manager to lead and develop our sales team at a high-performing automotive dealership. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in automotive sales leadership, strong closing skills, and the ability to drive revenue growth while delivering an exceptional customer experience. This role is responsible for managing daily sales operations, coaching staff, achieving sales targets, and maintaining compliance with dealership and manufacturer standards.

Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of automotive sales experience; prior management experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of dealership operations and sales processes
  • Proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and dealership management software
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate, and manage the dealership sales team to achieve monthly and annual sales goals
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to increase new and used vehicle sales
  • Monitor individual and team performance metrics (units sold, gross profit, closing ratios)
  • Conduct regular sales meetings and one-on-one coaching sessions
  • Assist in closing deals and negotiating pricing when needed
  • Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction throughout the sales process
  • Handle escalated customer concerns professionally and effectively
  • Promote a customer-first culture aligned with dealership values
  • Collaborate with the General Sales Manager to maintain appropriate vehicle inventory levels
  • Ensure vehicles are properly displayed, priced, and marketed
  • Monitor aging inventory and implement strategies to turn units efficiently
  • Ensure compliance with all dealership policies, lender requirements, and manufacturer guidelines
  • Oversee CRM usage and lead management processes
  • Work closely with the Finance & Insurance (F&I) department to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction
  • Recruit, train, and onboard new sales consultants
  • Provide ongoing training in product knowledge, sales techniques, and customer service
  • Foster a positive, high-performance work environment
