The Sales Manager is a hands-on sales leader responsible for driving revenue performance through effective coaching, execution of sales strategies, and day-to-day management of both outside and inside sales teams. This role focuses on developing talent, managing pipelines, and supporting key customer relationships to achieve growth objectives across priority product categories. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 5–8 years of sales experience, including 2–3 years in a sales leadership or supervisory role.
  • Proven experience managing a sales team
  • Proven ability to develop and manage KPI’s
  • Ability to work in an ever changing fast paced environment
  • Working knowledge of office products, furniture lines, key manufacturers, and the competitive landscape.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, motivate, and develop sales professionals, including inside sales teams.
  • Experience with pipeline management, CRM tools, and sales activity tracking.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Drive assigned revenue and profitability goals through effective execution of sales plans.
  • Monitor individual and team performance against activity goals, pipeline metrics, and CRM standards.
  • Support margin improvement and disciplined deal management.
  • Conduct regular one-on-one coaching sessions focused on skill development, pipeline health, and goal attainment.
  • Support prospecting, networking, and cold-calling efforts across the team.
  • Assist with onboarding, training, and ongoing development of new sales team members.
  • Execute sales and marketing initiatives aligned with company strategy and key product categories (MPS, K‑12 Furniture, Facility Supplies, Print).
  • Support RFP/Bid responses and assist with account reviews and renewals.
  • Reinforce and continuously improve adherence to the Innovative Sales Process.
  • Spend time in the field with sales representatives, focusing on coaching, new business development, and key accounts.
  • Participate in customer meetings, implementation discussions, and strategic account planning as needed.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships to support retention and growth.
  • Represent the company at trade shows, vendor fairs, and customer events when appropriate.
  • Work closely with sales leadership, marketing, operations, and support teams to ensure alignment and execution of sales initiatives.
  • Provide regular updates on team performance, challenges, and opportunities.
