About The Position

Develop new sales opportunities within the assigned region to achieve company sales growth and profitability goals. Act as a liaison between plant staff and customers and strengthen relationships with existing customers to ensure continued sales growth.

  • At least 5 years of technical sales experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to create new business opportunities and achieve aggressive sales growth.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software (Salesforce experience is a plus).
  • Experience using social media as a sales and marketing tool.
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% to visit customer locations.

Responsibilities

  • Meet or exceed sales goals.
  • Generate new sales opportunities and obtain requests for quotations (RFQs).
  • Forward RFQs to the Cost Estimator and clarify any issues.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers in the assigned region.
  • Develop relationships with key personnel at accounts, including executive leadership, plant, engineering, metallurgical, and purchasing teams.
  • Follow up on quotations to secure opportunities and coordinate negotiations with internal team members.
  • Act as a liaison during product launches to resolve technical or logistical issues between customers and plant teams.
  • Utilize various sales and marketing channels, including internet, cold calls, and referrals.
  • Spend at least 60% of the time meeting with qualified prospects and customers.
  • Document all prospect and customer activities in the company CRM and provide timely updates to leadership.
  • Monitor the customer base and market for changes, and recommend sales trends and investment opportunities to management.
  • Assess competition periodically and document findings in CRM.
  • Resolve customer payment issues in coordination with the accounting team.
  • Communicate price adjustments to customers.
  • Prepare detailed sales forecasts monthly.
  • Use ERP system data to analyze customer sales trends and budget deviations.
  • Network at tradeshows, industry events, and trade associations.
  • Maintain high industry knowledge and stay updated on trends and issues.
