About The Position

Phoenix International Freight Services is seeking a motivated, career-driven Sales Development Representative (BDR) to support and grow their U.S. sales organization. This inside sales role is designed as a development pathway into an Outside Sales position, offering hands-on experience in prospecting, client engagement, and solution development within the global logistics and freight forwarding industry. The ideal candidate is proactive, highly organized, and eager to build a long-term career in sales. This role provides strong exposure to pricing, operations, and customer strategy while rewarding performance and progression.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred (Business, Supply Chain, Sales, or related field)
  • 0–3 years of experience in sales, customer service, logistics, or a related role
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and time management skills
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and comfortable with outbound prospecting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Responsibilities

  • Generate new business opportunities through consistent outbound cold calling, email outreach, and strategic follow-ups
  • Qualify inbound and outbound leads and schedule meetings for Outside Sales representatives
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date activity, contact, and pipeline information in Pipedrive CRM
  • Meet or exceed activity and qualified meeting targets
  • Develop a working knowledge of Phoenix's service offerings, including air and ocean freight, warehousing, distribution, and technology solutions
  • Support client communications and follow-ups to advance opportunities through the sales pipeline
  • Assist in preparing sales presentations, proposals, and customer-specific solution overviews
  • Collaborate with operations and pricing teams to support competitive bids and RFQs
  • Gather and organize required shipment, lane, and volume data for accurate quoting
  • Learn cost structures, margin drivers, and pricing strategies within freight forwarding
  • Work closely with branch offices, operations teams, and international partners
  • Facilitate internal communication to ensure alignment and smooth handoff of opportunities
  • Support sales initiatives across regions and service lines
  • Participate in sales and industry training to continuously build product and market expertise
  • Shadow Outside Sales representatives on client calls and meetings when applicable
  • Progress toward managing opportunities and developing a personal book of business
