About The Position

The Sales Commissions Analyst is responsible for the Aggregation, Calculation, Evaluation, and Presentation of Variable Compensation. Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Aggregation – Collecting results by communicating across several groups within the company as our team is the Operations point-of-contact for Accounting and Payroll. Calculation – Calculating variable compensation for the Ancillary Sales Team Sales Manager and Regional Manager payments. Assisting in recalculations for others. Evaluation – Reviewing compensation for errors creating specialized reporting to track new efforts looking for trending used to tweak forecasts. Presentation – Reviewing all aspects of variable compensation for the Director/VP level answering their questions and following up on request/questions. Perform research in SQL Server databases/tables assisted by reviewing/creating Lucid Chart documents. Develop and maintain performance and metrics reporting for the compensation sales and support teams of SelectQuote Senior. Prepare quantitative analysis using Microsoft Excel, SQL, Amazon QuickSight, and other analytics tools to develop meaningful insights into company performance. Provide forward-looking and historical analysis for strategic initiatives through modeling and sensitivity tool usage. Produce clear and concise presentations regarding projects and other assigned tasks. Provide ad hoc analytical support to various teams throughout the business. Create reporting for key performance indicators monitor results and provide analysis of results to company stakeholders. Define benchmarks for success within the division using historical analysis. Collaborate with department leaders to build analyze and defend strategy and business cases for new initiatives workflow enhancements technological enhancements etc. Complete assigned tasks quickly and with a sense of urgency. Develop working knowledge of business processes data generated within each process and flow of data within the database for foundational KPIs.

Requirements

  • Ability to write your own basic SQL Server Code
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and at least basic working knowledge of PowerPoint OR Strong proficiency with Google Apps (Drive, Sheets, Docs, Forms etc.)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with a creative drive to make interesting and easily digestible visuals
  • High level of self-motivation; ability to accomplish goals independently
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with understanding that deadlines must be met even if it requires additional hours (rarely occurs)
  • Analytical and detail-oriented mindset; a high degree of accuracy is required in all functions
  • High level of curiosity and problem-solving aptitude
  • Resourcefulness and ability to push through ambiguity and find answers independently
  • Bachelor’s degree required preferably in Finance Economics Accounting Mathematics Business Analytics or related field
  • 0-2 years’ experience in analyst role (compensation, finance, operations, business or equivalent) preferred
  • Experience working with technical applications and programming languages such as SQL, Amazon QuickSight, and Lucid Chart etc. are highly preferred
