About The Position

Stryker is a leading medical technology company dedicated to improving healthcare through innovative medical technologies, including reconstructive, medical and surgical, and neurotechnology and spine products available in over 100 countries. As a Sales Associate in the Sports Medicine specialty, you will serve as the primary contact for Stryker products, supporting Sales Representatives in sales, promotion, and marketing efforts. Your role involves educating and informing doctors, nurses, and relevant staff on the proper use, maintenance, functionality, updates, and educational programs related to Stryker products. Following comprehensive product training, you will be expected to customize promotional messages based on customer knowledge, recommend suitable products, address customer inquiries about product functionality, and differentiate Stryker products from competitors. This role offers flexibility to prioritize activities that deliver the most value to customers and the market, allowing you to represent a top medical device brand and contribute to patient care.

Requirements

  • 0-2 years in an outside sales position.
  • B.A. or B.S. degree required.
  • Field sales training.
  • Successful completion of in-house product training program.
  • Confident communication skills to command the direction of a sales conversation and persuade others.
  • Ability to proactively reach out and engage with internal and external contacts to build powerful relationships.
  • Assertive sales leadership to seal deals and continuously exceed quarterly sales quotas.
  • Ability to serve as a subject matter expert for product knowledge and guidance.
  • Persistent, results-driven individual committed to fulfilling Stryker’s mission.
  • Ability to obtain the COVID-19 vaccination as an essential function of the role (depending on customer requirements).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in medical related fields (preferable for outside sales position).

Responsibilities

  • Assist Sales Representatives in the sales, promotion and marketing of Stryker products.
  • Educate and inform doctors, nurses, and appropriate staff personnel as to the proper use and maintenance of Stryker products, product functionality and updates, changes to product portfolio, and educational programs.
  • Tailor Stryker’s promotional message based upon knowledge of the customer.
  • Advise on appropriate product selection.
  • Answer customer questions about product functionality.
  • Distinguish Stryker products from those of Stryker’s competitors.
  • Exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Communicate with large groups of people.
  • Communicate telephonically.
  • Use common office equipment (e.g. fax, modem, calculator, PC, etc.).
  • Drive an automobile.
  • Routinely negotiate price and terms of transactions between Stryker and its customers.
  • Readily solve customer complaints and questions.
  • Have command of all products, including functionality, features, and factors that differentiate Stryker products from its competitors’ products, and be able to disseminate this knowledge to the customer.
  • Analyze territory market potential prioritize call patterns accordingly.
