About The Position

The Sales Assistant will provide administrative and operational support to the sales and marketing team in support of the daily operation of the Sales and Marketing Department. The Sales Assistant will at times act as a liaison between sales management and other functional departments, customers, companies, vendors, and other contacts when appropriate under the guidance of management in relation to sales orders. Assists administratively in the daily operation of the sales department. Responsible for the onboarding/data entry of new customers into company systems. Provides assistance to the sales manager and salespeople with customer account or new item set-up or changes. Responsible for entry of customer data, maintaining customer files and updating existing information company programs and spreadsheets. Responsible for maintaining basic knowledge of customer accounts in order to assist salespersons with account management. Responsible for maintaining basic knowledge of customer contractual requirements and communicating either verbally or electronically this information interdepartmentally as necessary to assist in the fulfillment of sales orders. Responsible for communication both verbally and electronically as needed with brokers, distributors, and customers under the guidance of sales management. Provides assistance to sales personnel with set-up, scheduling and coordination of food demonstrations with demo companies and customers. Maintains and distributes price list information, and generates sales reports as needed. Supports the Customer Order Entry role as needed to accurately enter incoming orders or order changes and communicates with appropriate sales and production staff all necessary information related to sales orders, including sending order acknowledgement information to customers and arranging freight and delivery to customers. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree is preferred, or equivalent work history.
  • Excellent computer skills required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft products required, Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Strong accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with information management.
  • Problem analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to be an effective team member.

  • Sit 70% of the time, Walk 20%, Stand 10%, Bend at waist 5 x per week, Walk up and down stairs 5x per week, lift 10 lbs. 2-3 times per week, lift up to 30 lbs. occasionally.
