Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, forestry or related field
  • 2-3 years of experience in operations, logistics, or marketing/sales
  • Ability to make decisions, plan and analyze information
  • Strong organization and leadership skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft word, MS-DOS, Excel and Outlook

Responsibilities

  • Meet face to face with NS personnel (both engineering and purchasing) to resolve issues and evaluate opportunities
  • Must communicate demands and initiatives to Corporate and the Tie plants to assure all NS requirements are being met
  • Track and manage all key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Trace, bill and assist in fleet management to drive production planning and manage inventory levels
  • Purchase order management
  • Resolve any invoice or accounts payable issues in a timely manner to minimize any impact to cash flow
  • Recognize and notify both Koppers and NS of potential cost savings opportunities
  • Manage railcar status, i.e., trace reporting
  • Notify respective personnel (procurement, engineering, treating plants) of any potential impacts to production based on railcar supply and inventory levels
  • Manage the NS switch tie priorities and orders and coordinate with roadway material yard
  • Assist with recurring production meetings between NS and Koppers Plants
