About The Position

The Sales and Design role is responsible for managing existing accounts within the greater Tulsa area and developing new business opportunities. This position involves planning and implementing interiorscapes, spring and fall patio gardens, and Christmas decorating services. Summary of Essential Job Functions Serve as the primary point of contact for existing client accounts, addressing their needs, satisfaction, and inquiries, including add/decrease transactions, complaints, and billing questions (via in-person or phone communication). Develop new business opportunities, assess client needs, design proposals, and close sales for new interiorscape projects. Communicate with other departments (service, installation, office) to ensure smooth project implementation, ongoing service, and accurate accounting transactions. Perform limited purchasing from established sources as needed. Respond to inquiries and requests from the service department and implement new market strategies. Regularly make cold calls, stay updated on new construction projects in the city, and identify potential leads. May assist with delinquent accounts as needed. Prepare required reports for the Sales Manager and ensure all actions align with company policies. Maintain a clean and organized work environment. Independence of Action This role operates independently, making both major and minor sales decisions on a daily basis. Manages own schedule and deadlines with minimal supervision, seeking assistance from the Sales Manager, General Manager, or service managers for special issues or complex accounts. Participates in regularly scheduled meetings with other sales representatives and the Sales Manager.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in plant care or equivalent training.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Prospecting, initiating contact, overcoming objections, and closing sales.
  • Knowledge of plant care and plant requirements.
  • Understanding of Cohlmia’s products and procedures.
  • Business math skills for pricing and creating quotes.
  • Strong communication skills with a wide range of people.
  • Excellent writing skills for letters, proposals, and reports.
  • Active listening skills.
  • Analytical and persuasive abilities for acquiring sales and problem-solving with tact.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to foster relationships with accounts and company staff.
  • Ability to calculate cost estimates and payment formulas accurately.
  • Professional, enthusiastic, and motivated approach to work.
