About The Position

Burlington Furniture is Vermont’s premier indoor, mattress and outdoor home furnishings and design center. They are locally owned and community-supported, and have been voted Best Furniture Store 11 times. They curate exceptional home furnishings from around the world and deliver a high-touch, design-focused customer experience that goes far beyond selling furniture. They are looking for experienced and driven design/sales professionals to join their growing team. The ideal candidate has a strong background in interior design and luxury retail sales, loves working with people, thrives in a fast-paced, high-reward environment, and works well on a team.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in interior design, high-end retail sales, or furniture sales required.
  • Strong working knowledge of furniture, design trends, and space planning.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and follow-up skills.
  • Comfort working with technology: Floor Planner, Microsoft Office/SharePoint, Teams.
  • Ability to work weekends and during peak retail periods.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Storis POS a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Guide clients through the design and furniture selection process, ensuring solutions are functional, aesthetic, and within budget, close sales.
  • Manage multiple customer projects simultaneously from concept to completion.
  • Follow up consistently to drive sales and build lasting client relationships.
  • Use digital tools for floor planning, virtual presentations, and order processing.
  • Collaborate with teammates and leadership to maintain a high-performing, design-forward environment.
  • Stay up to date on product knowledge and participate in all vendor and sales trainings.
