Sales Analyst – Aggregates Where Data, Pricing, and Tons Come Together For more than 85 years, York Building Products has been a trusted leader in the aggregates and building materials industry. We’re looking for a Sales Analyst – Aggregates who can turn high-volume transactional data into clear, actionable insight. This role partners closely with sales, operations, and commercial leadership to sharpen pricing discipline, improve freight economics, strengthen forecasting, and support profitable growth across our quarries and sand pits. If you understand the real-world mechanics of aggregates — tons, trucks, haul distance, and margins — this is a role where your work will have visible impact.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Supply Chain, or a related field
  • 2–5 years of experience in sales analysis, business analytics, or commercial reporting
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, Power Query); Power BI experience
  • Experience working with ERP systems and sales datasets
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to clearly communicate insights

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in aggregates, ready-mix concrete, asphalt, or heavy materials industries
  • Understanding of freight economics, haul optimization, and quarry operations
  • Familiarity with DOT bidding, infrastructure projects, and contract pricing

Responsibilities

  • Analyze sales volume, revenue, and gross margin by product, quarry, customer, and delivery method (FOB vs. delivered)
  • Track tons sold by end-use segment (ready-mix, asphalt, DOT, commercial, residential)
  • Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly shipment trends
  • Analyze base pricing, freight, fuel surcharges, and margin performance
  • Support price increase planning and track implementation results
  • Evaluate delivered vs. pickup profitability and haul-distance economics
  • Support special pricing requests, bids, and long-term supply agreements
  • Develop volume forecasts by quarry and market using historical trends, construction seasonality, and project pipelines
  • Support coordination between sales, operations, and dispatch to align production capacity and logistics
  • Identify demand risks tied to weather, infrastructure funding, and local construction activity
  • Segment customers by volume, profitability, haul radius, and end market
  • Analyze customer concentration, retention, and growth opportunities
  • Support competitive analysis related to local quarry supply, pricing, and market share
  • Prepare dashboards and scorecards for sales leadership and quarry managers
  • Provide data-driven insights for large infrastructure projects and DOT bids
  • Respond to sales team requests for quoting, reporting, and analysis
  • Improve data accuracy and consistency across ERP, CRM, and dispatch systems
