About The Position

Pregis Corporation, a leading global provider of innovative packaging solutions, seeks an Account Manager for its Protective Films & Coatings Business. This position covers a U.S. territory including Texas, Louisiana, and New Mexico. The ideal candidate will be based in the greater Dallas, TX area or near Houston, TX or Austin, TX. Approximately 50% of travel is required, consisting of both car and commercial air travel. Reporting to the Western Americas Sales Manager, the Account Manager is responsible for driving new business by selling to end users, converters, and through our distributor network. The role also includes managing and growing an established book of business through strategic sales planning, relationship development, and accurate forecasting. The primary focus is on new business development within a defined territory, with an emphasis on maximizing sales volume while maintaining target profit margins. A key competitive advantage will be the ability to effectively promote both water-based and solvent-based product lines. Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years of sales experience is required.
  • Proven Sales Performance: A solid track record of consistently exceeding growth targets and delivering double-digit revenue growth.
  • Technical Sales Expertise: Experience and demonstrated success in managing and closing sales within technical or complex product fields.
  • Competitive Drive: Highly competitive with a strong internal drive to succeed and outperform.
  • Lead Generation: Skilled in identifying and engaging new customers while gaining access to key decision-makers.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Proven ability to work across multiple business functions and, when applicable, with channel partners to achieve sales objectives.
  • Negotiation & Persuasion: Adept at negotiating large-scale deals with both C-suite executives and mid-level management.
  • Project Management: Ability to manage complex sales cycles and effectively coordinate internal and external resources to drive execution.
  • Strategic Prospecting: Capable of identifying a healthy pipeline of prospects and building comprehensive strategies to convert them into customers.
  • Market & Business Intelligence: Deep understanding of key verticals, including distribution channels, industry trends, customer needs, and the competitive landscape.
  • Customer Growth Assessment: Ability to evaluate whether existing customers have growth potential or are in maintenance mode—and to continuously reassess and adapt accordingly.
  • Technical & System Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (particularly Outlook and Excel), CRM platforms (e.g., SAP C4C), ZoomInfo, and other internal business systems.
  • Detail-Oriented Execution: Demonstrates high attention to detail and strong organizational skills across all platforms and tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in manufacturing, technical sales, or the paper/plastics packaging industry is highly desired.
  • Prior experience selling pressure-sensitive adhesives, tapes, or films—particularly within the metals, automotive, construction, industrial, or fabricating sectors—is preferred.
