Safety Specialist
About The Position
Position Summary: We are looking for an experienced Safety Specialist with a background in construction safety, preferably in heavy civil projects. This role will support site safety programs, conduct inspections and audits, ensure regulatory compliance, and promote a culture of safety across all operations. Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in construction safety (heavy civil preferred)
- Strong knowledge of OSHA standards and construction safety best practices
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to travel to various job sites throughout the region
Nice To Haves
- Certifications such as OSHA 30, First Aid/CPR, or CHST a plus
Responsibilities
- Monitor job sites to ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety policies
- Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and incident investigations
- Deliver safety training and toolbox talks for crews and supervisors
- Assist in developing and updating site-specific safety plans (SSSPs)
- Maintain safety documentation and reports
- Support project teams in identifying and mitigating hazards
