About The Position

Support the safety initiatives of the department leadership. Responsible to identify, evaluate and eliminate/control all industrial/construction risks through technical knowledge and expertise, while promoting a positive safety culture.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety or related safety engineering required.
• Minimum 1 year safety experience within construction or general industry required.
• Valid Driver’s License required

Responsibilities

• Assist in development, implementation, and maintenance of applicable safety programs
• Assist in development, scheduling, documentation, maintenance, and tracking of applicable safety training(s)
• Perform industrial hygiene sampling, ergonomic assessments, and other assigned evaluations/assessments
• Conduct and engage teams in safety committees and meetings
• Perform and assist in closure of near miss/incident investigations and provide assistance in regulatory inspections
• Perform routine compliance-based observations and inspections related to company safety programs and initiatives.
• Perform, coordinate, and maintain the process for inspecting and maintaining safety equipment
• Assist in site environmental compliance (permitting, inspections, waste management, etc.)
• Actively identify risk opportunities and control measures through feedback, observation, data trending, and continuous education to create a safer workplace
• Work with the Sheetz Team to promote a proactive and engaged safety culture
