About The Position

The Safety Specialist is responsible for managing and monitoring safety programs, policies, and procedures inpliance with OSHA and other applicable regulations. This role supports the Corporate Safety Department by conducting inspections, identifying unsafe conditions, and delivering training to promote proactive safety practices.   This position is not eligible for sponsorship or relocation. Hours: 2pm-10pm Sign-On Bonus Eligible! Bilingual in English and Spanish strongly preferred.

Requirements

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred, with emphasis in Safety or Behavioral-Based Leadership.
  • Minimum of two years' experience in safety or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience in delivering safety training and promoting safe work practices.
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strongmunication skills with the ability to engage all levels of the organization, from hourly employees to senior management.

Nice To Haves

  • OSHA 30 certification preferred.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred.
  • Associate Safety Professional (ASP) preferred.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily walk-throughs of all facility buildings to identify safety concerns, performpliance audits, and maintain the first aid log.
  • Assist supervisors and managers with accident and incident investigations and related documentation.
  • Deliver safety training sessions and promote corporate safety initiatives at the site.
  • Collaborate with the Corporate Safety team on urgent safety matters requiring immediate attention.
  • Facilitate initial and ongoing forklift training for employees.
  • Maintain safetymunication boards and postings.
  • Prepare written reports and safety metrics for the Corporate Safety Department.
  • Manage SDSOnline site and chemical inventory updates.
  • Keep records of local safety training, monthly safety meetings, and safetymittee minutes.
  • Coordinate quarterly facility inspections.
