About The Position

The Safety & Security Specialist plays a critical role in protecting our people, facilities, and operations across Silver Lion Farms (North and South locations) and True Harmony Company’s licensed cannabis cultivation and production campus. This position owns day-to-day site security operations and designated safety programs, ensuring continuous compliance with Nevada Cannabis Compliance Board (CCB) requirements while supporting OSHA-aligned safety practices. You’ll be a visible, trusted presence on site—monitoring access, responding to incidents, supporting audits and inspections, and helping promote a safe, secure, and compliant workplace in a highly regulated environment. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Prior private sector security experience required
  • Strong understanding of security protocols, including access control, surveillance, and perimeter security.
  • Intermediate computer skills for reporting and monitoring systems
  • Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record
  • Must pass company background check and maintain a Nevada Cannabis Agent Card
  • Ability to obtain CPR and First Aid training/certifications within 90 days of start date
  • Ongoing compliance with CCB regulations is required as a condition of employment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in cannabis or highly regulated environments strongly preferred
  • OSHA experience and certifications preferred

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and control access to the facility for employees, vendors, and visitors
  • Verify agent cards and visitor authorization in accordance with CCB requirements
  • Conduct routine patrols of buildings, perimeters, and grounds
  • Operate and monitor security cameras, alarm systems, and access control systems
  • Enforce site security policies, procedures, and CCB regulations
  • Monitor, identify, and investigate suspected theft, diversion, or unauthorized removal of company property or cannabis product
  • Preserve evidence, document findings, and escalate incidents per SOP and CCB reporting requirements to HR and onsite management.
  • Respond to alarms, emergencies, and security incidents in a calm and professional manner
  • Support CCB inspections, audits, and regulatory visits
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive operational and regulatory information
  • Deliver new hire and ongoing security and safety trainings, including site safety orientation, emergency response, and equipment awareness
  • Monitor compliance with PPE requirements, safety signage, and restricted equipment access
  • Observe and report unsafe conditions, damaged equipment, or improper equipment use during routine patrols
  • Restrict access to high-risk or controlled equipment areas to trained and authorized personnel
  • Support safety incident and near-miss response by securing scenes, documenting facts, and escalating per SOP
  • Participate in safety drills, inspections, and emergency preparedness activities
  • Coordinate with Operations, Facilities, and HR on safety-related concerns within assigned authority
  • Support and help to enforce all OSHA requirements
  • Support and coordinate workers' compensation incidents with HR
  • Lead or support emergency response activities, including evacuations, medical incidents, and coordination with emergency services
  • Provide preliminary on-site emergency medical support and coordinate. provide transportation as needed
  • Establish and maintain working relationships with law enforcement, emergency services, and relevant government agencies
  • Administer drug screens to employees under reasonable suspicion for incidents and accidents
  • Obtain required certificates to provide first aid
  • Assist with safety and security oversight of the Shuttle Program
  • Monitor dashcam footage and vehicle safety inventories
  • Support driver safety training and incident reporting
