About The Position

Essity Manufacturing Professional Hygiene North America is currently seeking a Safety Manager for our Midwest Region. This position will be based in our manufacturing facility in Neenah, WI. The Safety Manager administers and coordinates the safety program, continuous improvement (HMEx) safety initiatives and tools, safety data management, and security services in all areas of paper operations. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with a major in Occupational Safety or relevant program
  • Five plus (5+) years safety management experience preferred
  • Ability to develop and recommend safety programs
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in written form
  • Ability to motivate employees to work safely
  • Training skills
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and workers compensation law.

Responsibilities

  • Establishes safety goals and objectives with the Operations Manager and department managers
  • Develops the safety program to achieve established safety goals and objectives
  • Provides assistance to department managers and supervisors to meet the established goals and objectives
  • Assists department managers and supervisors in developing and promoting safety awareness and safety communication throughout Paper Operations
  • Coordinates supervisory and employee safety training programs and record keeping
  • Ensures the Company is in compliance with OSHA regulations
  • Administers the Essity hearing conservation, safety shoes, safety glasses, first aid, and other safety related programs
  • Assists in providing information for monthly department safety crew meetings and online safety training
  • Coordinates the handling of worker compensation claims and hearings
  • Coordinates and participates in the Union/Management Safety Committee meetings
  • Participates in the Union/Management Information meetings
  • Supervises activities of contract security guard services
  • Assists the Operations Manager as requested
  • Coordinates with other locations to maintain consistency in safety programs
  • Communicates safety information
  • Coordinates safety audits, incident and accident investigations
  • Coordinates confined space rescue team, and training
  • Develops and updates all safety and emergency response procedures
  • Leads in implementing the Environmental, Health and Safety, Quality/Food Safety System (QRESH) policies and procedures to meet or exceed our customers product quality, service and sustainability expectations, including certification requirements such as ISO:14001, SFQ, and others as applicable
  • Demonstrates leadership in the prevention of pollution, compliance with applicable legal and other requirements, and continual improvement of environmental performance especially in the areas of recognized Environmental Significant Aspects and Essity’s established corporate sustainability goals
  • Practice commitment to the philosophy that Environmental, Health and Safety, Quality/Food Safety (QRESH) stewardship is everyone’s responsibility
  • Perform other essential responsibilities as deemed necessary.
