About The Position

Assist with maintaining compliance of local, state, and federal compliance (OSHA, DOT, DNR, EPA, DHS and State of Wisconsin) for required written safety programs, training, audits, and documentation including, but not limited to: Hazard Communication, Hazardous Energy Control, Hazardous Materials OSHA 300 Log, Personal Protective Equipment, Exposure Control Plan, Forklift Operation, Tier II Reporting, Respiratory Protection, Emergency Action Plan, Contractor Safety, Industrial Hyg., Reporting: Incident/Near Miss, Hearing Conversation, Job Safety Analysis, Confined Space, Ergonomics, CPR/First Aid/AED, and Fire Extinguisher. Research and purchase necessary safety and first aid equipment as needed. Participate in facility inspections, audit work practices and ensure that corrective action is initiated by the area accountable for the safety/health problem. Assist with safety training in various areas to provide education and maintain compliance. Train, counsel and advise staff on all safety issues as necessary. Keep abreast of OSHA, DOT, DNR, EPA, DHS and State of Wisconsin safety regulations and standards applicable to Clack Corporation. Support outside agencies including, but not limited to, insurance and other consultants, government agencies, various support vendors, etc., conducting safety, fire and physical audits. Assist management with interpretation and compliance with building and equipment code requirements. Assist with industrial hygiene projects as needed. Support the incident investigation and near miss/damage reporting process. Assist with workers compensation cases, including the return to work program and modified duty work assignments. Provide assistance with the enforcement of the company Drug and Alcohol Policy. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, or in process of obtaining Bachelor’s degree, in Occupational Safety
  • General understanding of safety codes, OSHA, DOT, DNR, EPA, DHS and State of Wisconsin regulations, etc.
  • 0-1 years of safety experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated training skills and abilities along with designing curriculum and teaching aides.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate with staff, vendors, visitors, etc.
  • Demonstrate professional leadership.
  • Proficient with computers; Word, Excel, etc.
  • May require long periods of standing, walking, and sitting.
