About The Position

The SHE Intern will assist the Safety, Health and Environmental Department in ensuring compliance will all relevant regulations and company policies, This position offers a valuable opportunity to gain hands on experience in a dynamic manufacturing environment that encompasses electronics manufacturing, product assembly, and minor machining. This position will directly contribute to the continuous improvement of Altronic's SHE Programs.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in SHE Management in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Effective Communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point).

Nice To Haves

  • Basic understanding of SHE Regulations and standards is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in conducting Safety Inspections and audits to identify potential hazards.
  • Support and directly implement outlined corrective actions and opportunities for improvement to mitigate identified risks.
  • Participate in the development and delivery of safety training programs for employees.
  • Assist in the investigation of incidents and near-misses, and contribute to the review of metrics related to safety incidents.
  • Help generate, maintain, and update safety records and documentation.
  • Assist in the monitoring of occupational health programs and initiatives.
  • Support ergonomic assessments and recommend improvements to reduce workplace injuries.
  • Assist in conducting environmental impact assessments and audits.
  • Support the implementation of waste reduction and recycling programs.
  • Help monitor compliance with environmental regulations and standards.
  • Participate in sustainability initiatives and projects aimed at reducing the plant's environmental footprint.
